Services and Clinics
Our GP’s and nurses will provide the full range of care required by the NHS plus some specialist services e.g. minor surgery and acupuncture. These additional services will be offered by your GP if appropriate.
Nurses
We will have a team of practice nurses who are able to treat minor illness such as sore throats, earache, cystitis, vaginal discharge, urinary tract infections and hay fever.
Their services also include:
- Well Patient and New Patient Checks
- Phlebotomy (blood taking for tests and checks)
- Cervical Smears
- Contraception advice and provision
- Menopause
- Childhood Immunisations
- Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccinations
- Foreign Travel Advice and Vaccinations (Note this is not an NHS service and patients will be expected to pay for the vaccines required for their travel)
- Blood Pressure Monitoring
- Chronic Disease Management including Coronary Heart Disease, Stroke, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD.
- Stop Smoking Advice
- Weight Management Advice and Support
- Following referral by a GP Practice Nurses can also carry out Cryotherapy Treatment, ECG and Spirometry.
Minor Injury Service
We will offer a minor injury service treating bites, small burns, cuts, foreign bodies not in eyes, ears, nose or throat, minor head injury (no loss of consciousness), minor upper and lower limbs, nose bleeds that bleed less than 20 minutes. This service may prevent some patients attending A & E, but we are not an emergency department and more severe injuries will require treating at A & E.
We will be registered as a Yellow Fever Centre.
Test results
Your doctor may request that you send a sample to the laboratory for testing. You will be able to receive the results of some your test by contacting our Reception Team one week after the test is done, for others your GP may contact you.
Non-NHS Services
We will offer a range of non-NHS services for which a fee may be charged as follows:
- Copies of Patients records.
- Insurance reports.
- Medical examinations and reports, e.g. for driving or other occupational reasons.
- Forms and letter requiring medical opinion or details.
- Travel vaccinations
